Who are you BlamingToday?

WHO ARE YOU BLAMING TODAY?

I have been watching the sunrise through the windows this morning and being thankful I am seeing the beginning of another wonderful day.  I have been wondering this morning why there appears to be so much anger surfacing in the world.  You can feel the tension in the air and everyone seems to be pointing their fingers at others and placing blame. A case in point is the media coverage of Michael Jackson.  Everyone is trying to blame someone else for the mess he made in his private life, his addiction, the children etc.

Are you feeling sorry for yourself?  We all do once in awhile.  Blame is self-pity from a human-potential perspective.

From a karmic perspective:  Blame is incompatible with Karma and reincarnation.  How can you possibly blame someone for playing a part in teaching you a lesson you incarnated to learn?  Both parties in the equation are acting out their karma.

Looking at blame from the view of a therapist it is not always the one that starts change in a relationship that really instigated that change.

When two people are having problems, both are responsible even though it may not be obvious to everyone involved.  Some can be in therapy for years before they discover the deep repressed feelings.

Life in the physical body is about making growth choices and then experiencing the consequences of your actions through cause and effect. Ideally, you learn through love and wisdom. But if not, you may have to experience the old reliable teacher ... PAIN. Suffering makes a point and you learn ... but only if you let go of the blame.

If you cross over into spirit without resolving the blame and forgiving the one you see as a perpetrator, it is very likely you’ll reincarnate together in a future life to continue working the karma.

When people come to me for past-life regression, the first thing they want to understand is why they’ve had to suffer so much in this world. Why they were sexually molested as a child? Why did their business partner rip them off? Why is their mother-in-law so hateful?

This knowledge does help people let go of blame. If you see that you did something painful to them in another life, it can be easier to justify your suffering. I always conclude these sessions with an intense forgiveness process. Forgive yourself and forgive them.

So, with all things considered, why not accept all the blame and get on with it. After all, we are all karmically responsible for the lessons we learn in this earthy incarnation.

We are all working toward enlightenment. Self-actualization is a step in the right direction, and it amounts to letting go of the fear-based emotions and learning to express unconditional love -- unconditional acceptance. In other words, accept others without expectations, blame, judgment, or trying to control.

We all have unresolved karma waiting in the wings to offer us a learning opportunity when the timing is right. This karma might be triggered by your reactions to another person, or maybe an accident, a health crisis, or a local, regional, or national event.

When you were in spirit planning your earth life, you were very brave. You said, “Okay, this time around, I’m going to get together with ‘him’ or ‘her’ again so we can work out our problems and resolve all conflict. We have been unsuccessful in working this out in our previous lives, but this time we will have more awareness.

Or so you think but now that you are going through it again it might not be working out as you planned and your self awareness has not kicked in.

Remember, everything you think, say and do incurs or resolves karma. And you have to factor in the motive, intent and desire behind everything you think, say and do.

As you already know, other people are mirrors. If you recognize and are bothered by their negative characteristics, the reflected traits exist in you. Negative mirror reflections often cause a “karmic opportunity” to surface so you can deal with it ... learn from it ... be tested by it.

If we were to make a list of people we don’t like -- people we find obnoxious, threatening, or worthy of contempt -- we would discover much about those aspects of ourselves that we can’t face. If we were to come up with one word about each of the troublemakers in our lives, we would find ourselves with a list of descriptions of our own rejected qualities. We project these onto the outside world.

Try to be grateful for each opportunity that comes to you from everyone.

That may be easier said than done but it is possible to do if you are conscious of the fact and accept that karma and reincarnation are the basis of your reality.

Wishing you Peace, Abundance and Enlightenment this lovely Thursday as we head into another weekend.

Dear Karen:  I know what you mean about Karma and the concept of karma but it is so important that we realize that we are truly the Masters of our souls and that we are in charge of our own path and life choices.  Realizing that we are  not going to judged by others when we cross over but...we will be judging ourselves and the progress we made is very sobering for many I believe.  Karma is not a punishment as some believe but a way for us to evolve and advance our soul.  With each choice that we make from the heart we are advancing our souls and other souls that we have influence over such as our children, our partners and friends.  It is truly a ripple effect.

Thank you again for your insightful comment and I am so glad that you are taking the time to read and share your insight on the blogs.

As happens so often with these blogs, I have been made to think. The concept of Karma as a governing part of our lives is still a new concept for me, as is the thought that we plan the major events in our lives while in the spiritual realm before our reincarnation. Although I didn't realize it, I spent a good part of my life blaming others, life, and society for any problems that I might have. Self actualization was not a part of my life. I now think that self actualization is one of the Karmic forces in this life, a lesson I need to learn. I am grateful for blogs like this that help to make me aware and point me in the right direction. Thank you.
