Getting rid of Needless Fears in our Lives!

Getting rid of Fears and Burdens with self hypnosis.....

I want to share with you a self hypnosis method that you can use to help rid yourself of fears and burdens that you may have acquired during your life and that are weighing you down with worry.  All of us have day to day worries that trouble us and we worry needlessly even when we know there is nothing we can do to alleviate the problems right now.  If you can stop the needless worry then you will be much stronger when you encounter problems that are needing a solution immediately.  Much of the trouble we worry about will never happen but that does not matter for we imagine that the very worse scenario will happen  and we worry what we are going to do if and when it occurs.

I learned this method when first learning hypnotherapy and as I begun to teach my clients self hypnosis it became a very useful tool.

We all carry "blueprints" of our life with us and by changing the patterns we can reprogram the negative "blueprints" by releasing and replacing them with positive affirmations.

This simple story can be recorded by you so you can listen to it and modify it for your own use.

1.  Before you begin to read I want you to list all your worries and burdens on a piece of paper and list them as Rock number 1=then name your most painful burden...then Rock number 2 = and so on and so on as you list each burden, fear or pain.

2.  Now settle into the most comfortable place you can find and begin to relax by envisioning your body becoming soft and supple and flowing into the bed or chair like liquid silver.  Totally relaxed and comfortable.  Warm and secure in your special place.

Now....this story is about a young child male or female who is living deep in the forest.  I am going to refer to the child as "She" but you can adapt this for a boy also.

You can see this child moving through the forest carrying a large sack and as she moves the child bends to pick up rocks to put in her sack along the path.
Each one bigger than the one before.  The sack is getting heavier and heavier and the burden is so hard for the childs small body to carry or pull along with her.  In the forest behind the trees you can see the figure of a dark entity...frightening the child..telling her to pick up more and more rocks as the burden gets heavier and heavier.

The entity stays very close to the child and appears to be the same size as the child as its darkness shadows her every step.

Everywhere they went, as they walked along, the dark entity would whisper in the child's  ear, "There's a rock you need to carry. Pick it up! Put it in your bag!"

"Look, there's a rock about feeling bad about yourself! Pick it up right now and put it in your bag."

"Look, there's a rock about getting poor grades in school! Pick it up and put it in your bag."

Look, there's a rock about your fear of the dark! Pick it up and put it in your bag."
And the little child did so, because she was afraid. "I have to do what the ogre says." And the bag got heavier and heavier.

More rocks are added (use your list adding each rock from your list) and the bag gets heavier and heavier and the years pass as the burdens weigh down the child as she moves into her teen years.

One dark day as the child is feeling her lowest she sees a bright blue light that appears on the path in front of her.  The light surrounds a beautiful  magical entity with a large wand with a vibrating purple orb at the top.  This entity is bright light and beautiful to look upon.

She tells the child "This is a healing wand  so do not be afraid".  The lovely spirit asks the child  "why do you continue to carry the rocks with you"  and the child replies "because I have to"  the lovely spirit asks "why"?   The little child tearfully points to the darkness behind the tree and says "because he tells me to and I am afraid not to do what he says".

Then the Lovely spirit  asked, "Well, how much longer do you want to drag around that bag of heavy rocks?"

"I don't want to drag it around," the child  insisted, "but he says I must."

"Why don't you just stop listening to him for you know you do not have to," asked the bright spirit?

"Because I'm afraid of him," replied the child.

"Nonsense!" said the bright entity. All you need is a little courage and confidence, and you'll be rid of the rocks and the darkness altogether."

"But how do I get courage and confidence?" asked the child.

The Lovely Entity replied, "If you really want to get rid of those heavy rocks, I can create some magic with my wand. I'll simply tap you on your right shoulder and send courage into you. And then I'll tap you on your left shoulder and send confidence into you. And, you'll be able to get rid of the evil darkness... and the rocks. But, the question is, do you really want to get rid of them?"

"Oh, I DO want to get rid of the rocks! " cried the child. "Please , please give me some magic so I won't have to carry this weight any longer."

So the Lovely Entity  struck the little child  hard on the right shoulder with her magic wand, sending red sparks everywhere. "There's your Courage!" she struck the child hard on the left shoulder with her magic wand, sending blue sparks everywhere. "There's your Confidence! "The rest is up to you."
And the Lovely entity  immediately disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Suddenly, the child began to  feel  stronger and unafraid.

The dark entity complained, "Don't listen to that spirit!" It's important that you keep picking up those heavy rocks like I've told you."

But the child wouldn't listen any longer.  The child moved forward and saw a lake just off the path of the forest.  A beautiful crystal clear lake with a very deep bottom. The clouds started to disappear and the sun just starting to shine on the horizon.   The child dragged the heavy bag over to the side of the lake.  Then she  pulled out the biggest stone in the bag and heaved it out into the water as far as she could. One by one, she took out each rock/burden (visualize throwing your rocks from your list)  and threw it as far as she could into the middle of the lake where there was a big deep hole.

As each rock flew into the lake  the little child feels lighter and lighter as her burdens lift and fly away with the stones.

As each rock went in, the child could feel the dark entity  behind her getting smaller and smaller and smaller, until, finally, with the very last rock, the darkness  disappeared altogether.

And the little child went off down the path, with the empty sack slung over her shoulder, singing  as she went for her burdens had been lifted and never again would she have to carry the rocks again in her life.

Now you can adapt this story to use at bedtime as a self hypnosis tool.  Copy the story onto a CD in your own voice and envision the child as yourself.   Listen to it each night until you feel the burdens that  you have on your list beginning to disappear and you can see them slowly disappear from your life.

Many blessings to you this day and I hope you find some joy in each minute.
Rosie
