LOL :D)) Life is a song! Blessings Ozi..

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.

It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1.   Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2.
When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3.   Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4.
Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.  Your friends and parents will.  Stay in touch.

5.   Pay off your credit cards every month.

6.
You don't have to win every argument.  Agree to disagree.

7.   Cry with someone.  It's more healing than crying alone.

8.
It's OK to get angry with God.  He can take it.

9.   Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10.
When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11.   Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12.
It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13.   Don't compare your life to others.  You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14.
If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15.   Everything can change in the blink of an eye.  But don't worry; God never blinks.

16.
Take a deep breath.  It calms the mind.

17.   Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

18.
Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19.   It's never too late to have a happy childhood.  But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20.
When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21.   Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.  Don't save it for a special occasion.  Today is special.

22.
Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23.   Be eccentric now.  Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important sex organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26.
Frame every so-called disaster with these words  'In five years, will this matter?'

27.   Always choose life.

28.
  Forgive everyone everything.

29.   What other people think of you is none of your business.

30.
Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31.   However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32.
Don't take yourself so seriously.  No one else does.

33.   Believe in miracles.

34.
God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35.   Don't audit life.  Show up and make the most of it now.

36.
Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37.   Your children get only one childhood.

38.
All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39.   Get outside every day.  Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40.
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,  we'd grab ours back.

41.   Envy is a waste of time.  You already have all you need.

42.
The best is yet to come.

43.   No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44.
  Yield.

45.   Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

From a management theme, I just loved these from the Dalai Lama for those who are in business.

Management Lessons

Lesson #1 A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A small rabbit saw the crow, and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long? The crow answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped the rabbit and ate it.
Management Lesson: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson #2 A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy. "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the first branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, the reached the second branch. Finally after a fortnight, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.
Management Lesson: Bulls*** might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson #3 A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile
of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him!
Management Lesson:
1) Not everyone who drops s*** on you is your enemy.
2) Not everyone who gets you out of s*** is your friend.
3) And when you're in deep s***, keep your mouth shut.

Lesson #4 The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked. As they went along, they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions. Later, they passed some people that remarked, "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk."They decided they both would walk! Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So the both rode the donkey! Now they passed some people that shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey. The boy and man said they were probably right so they decided to carry the donkey. As they crossed a bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.
Management Lesson: If you try to please everyone, you will eventually lose your a**.

Life Lessons

Advice from the Dali Lama
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs: Respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for all your actions.
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
